No shocking result in a game when thirteenth ranked Science City Jena (6-8) crushed at home 17th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (2-12) 90-68. Science City Jena shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Skyler Bowlin (191-89, college: Missouri So.) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) helped adding 19 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Fabian Bleck (200-93) with 11 points and Canadian guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (188-92, agency: Two Points) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Science City Jena moved-up to twelfth place. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 12 games lost. Science City Jena will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#14) in Weissenfels in the next round. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play at home against EWE Baskets and hopes to get back on the winning track.
