Regular Season Round 15: Ludwigsburg - Telekom Bsk 87-78

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Telekom Baskets (8-6) lost on the road to fifth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (10-3) 87-78. EnBW Ludwigsburg outrebounded Telekom Baskets 45-30 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Telekom Baskets were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Thomas Walkup (193-92, college: SF Austin) helped adding 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Croatian power forward Tomislav Zubcic (208-90) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Julian Gamble (208-89, college: Miami, FL) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to third place. Telekom Baskets at the other side keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with EWE Baskets. EnBW Ludwigsburg will again play against Telekom Baskets (#8) in Bonn in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Telekom Baskets will play at home against Giessen 46ers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
