Regular Season Round 12: Satu Mare - Timisoara 91-86 OT

Timisoara (#6) forced the game against Satu Mare (#3) into an overtime, but lost by five points 86-91 on Thursday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-13. But Timisoara won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Timisoara used huge pressure winning it 18-17 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-14. Satu Mare looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Timisoara was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Taneisha Harrison (182-89, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Andra-Simina Mandache (185-81) who added 27 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Maegan Conwright (173-92, college: Florida St.) with 32 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and her fellow American import guard Dlesha Lloyd (179-86, college: Clemson) scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Timisoara's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Satu Mare (8-3) moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Timisoara keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Satu Mare will face Sirius TgM (#9) in Targu Mures in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Timisoara will play on the road against ICIM Arad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
