Regular Season Round 13: Istanbul BBSK - Galatasaray 74-67

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two teams from Istanbul: Istanbul BBSK (#8) and Galatasaray (#10). Istanbul BBSK (7-6) won against visiting Galatasaray (5-8) 74-67. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Ryan Toolson (193-85, college: Utah Valley) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American-FYR Macedonian center Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Emir Preldzic (206-87, agency: BeoBasket) added 12 points and 7 assists in the effort for Galatasaray. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Galatasaray's coach Erman Kunter gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Istanbul BBSK moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Darussafaka and Banvit BK. Galatasaray lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Istanbul BBSK's next round opponent will be Pinar Karsiyaka (#13) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Galatasaray will play against Banvit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
