Regular Season Round 24: Neptunas-Akv. - Silute 97-78

The most important game in the last round took place in Klaipeda between third ranked Silute (17-7) and fourth ranked Neptunas-Akv. (15-9) on Saturday night. Silute was crushed by Neptunas-Akv. on the road 97-78. Neptunas-Akv. made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Silute's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Silute helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds and forward Arunas Mikalauskas (202-97, agency: BeoBasket) who added 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Neptunas-Akv. players scored in double figures. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Tomas Gaidamavicius used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Andrius Globys (198-95) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Justas Nausedas (193-92) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Neptunas-Akv. maintains fourth position with 15-9 record. Silute at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. Neptunas-Akv. are looking forward to face Ereliai Mazeikiai (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Silute will play against Telsiai (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
