The game in Vienna was also quite interesting. 4th placed Dukes (8-6) played at the court of sixth ranked Vienna (7-7). Vienna defeated Dukes 118-106 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dukes. Vienna looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) who led his team to a victory scoring 47 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). American point guard Reger Dowell (185-91, college: Texas Arlington) helped adding 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was naturalized Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) with a double-double by scoring 47 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists and international point guard Valentin Bauer (183-94, college: Mars Hill) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Dukes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Vienna. They maintain sixth place with 7-7 record. Loser Dukes keep the fourth position with six games lost. Vienna will meet bottom-ranked UBSC Graz (#9) on the road in the next round. Dukes will have a break next round.
