Regular Season Round 12: Levski Lukoil - Spartak Pleven 108-65

NBL top team - Levski 2014 (9-4) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Spartak Pleven (0-11) in Sofia 108-65. Levski 2014 dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 22. Levski 2014 forced 21 Spartak Pleven turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Spartak Pleven's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international forward Veselin Veselinov (202-83, college: W.Virginia St.) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and the former international guard Stanimir Marinov (192-91, agency: Interperformances) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Levski 2014 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Konstantin Koev (196-91) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Gerasim Nikolov (188-93) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Levski 2014 have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-4 record. Spartak Pleven at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Levski 2014 are looking forward to face Cherno More (#8) in Varna in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spartak Pleven will play at home against Rilski and hopes to get finally their first victory.
