Very expected game in Balikesir where 15th ranked Gaziantep (3-10) was defeated by ninth ranked Banvit (7-6) 86-76. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Italian Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian-American guard Andrew Rautins (193-86, college: Syracuse) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Five Banvit players scored in double figures. American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import point guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona, agency: Higher Vision Sports) added 17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Gaziantep. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Banvit. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Darussafaka and Istanbul BBSK. Gaziantep at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with ten games lost. Banvit's next round opponent will be Galatasaray (#10) in Istanbul. Gaziantep will play at home against Anadolu Efes (#5) and hope to win that game.
