The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Anadolu Efes (#6) and Darussafaka (#7). Anadolu Efes (8-5) won against visiting Darussafaka (7-6) 73-69. Anadolu Efes shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Anadolu Efes made 7 blocks. American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 assists for the winners and Croatian swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American point guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) responded with 21 points and Nigerian center Micheal Eric (210-88, college: Temple) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Darussafaka's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Anadolu Efes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sakarya BSB. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Banvit BK and Istanbul BBSK. Anadolu Efes is looking forward to face Gaziantep (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Darussafaka will play against Yesilgiresun Bld (#12) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
