The game had a very big importance for second-ranked SC Rasta Vechta as it allowed them to take a leadership position. SC Rasta Vechta defeated 14th ranked OrangeAcademy at home 87-76. SC Rasta Vechta made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by OrangeAcademy's players. American guard Chris Carter (195-92, college: Florida Tech) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Seth Hinrichs (201-93, college: Lafayette, agency: Duran International) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five SC Rasta Vechta players scored in double figures. Hungarian point guard Marcell Pongo (194-97) answered with 26 points and 5 assists and naturalized Austrian point guard David Kramer (191-97) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for OrangeAcademy. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SC Rasta Vechta (15-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted OrangeAcademy keeps the fourteenth place with 12 games lost. OrangeAcademy will play next round against strong Koeln Rh.Stars trying to get back on the winning streak. SC Rasta Vechta will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Gladiators in Trier.
