Regular Season Round 15: Bonn II - Salzkotten 76-52

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Salzkotten (6-10) was rolled over on the road by twelfth ranked Bonn II (2-14) 76-52 on Saturday. Bonn II held Salzkotten to an opponent 23.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.8 percent accuracy of the winners. It was a great evening for point guard Luca Mertz (180-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Igor Uzelac (195-98) helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Bonn II players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Fritz Hemschemeier (182-98) with 11 points and 7 rebounds and center Thomas Stukenberg (206-92) scored 6 points and 12 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bonn II maintains twelfth place in West with 2-14 record, which they share with Hagen-Haspe. Loser Salzkotten keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Bonn II will face higher ranked Hagen BG (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
