Regular Season Round 14: Eskisehir Basket - Besiktas 78-87

The most important game in the last round took place in Edirne between third ranked Eskisehir Basket (10-4) and fourth ranked Besiktas (10-4) on Saturday night. Eskisehir Basket was defeated by Besiktas in a tough game at home 78-87. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Eskisehir Basket. Besiktas dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Eskisehir Basket's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Eskisehir Basket's players. The best player for the winners was American-Cameroonian DJ Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) who scored 19 points. The former international center Sertac Sanli (211-91, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 20 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and guard Bugrahan Tuncer (193-93) added 21 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Besiktas moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Eskisehir Basket. Besiktas is looking forward to face Demir IBB (#11) in Buyukcekmece in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eskisehir Basket will play on the road against Sakarya BSB (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
