Regular Season Round 15: Dragons - Coburg 89-86

Tenth-ranked Coburg (4-11) made lots of trouble for second ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (11-4) on Saturday. Dragons Rhoendorf managed to secure only three-point victory 89-86. However their fans expected much easier game. Dragons Rhoendorf made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Coburg's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dragons Rhoendorf made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Kameron Taylor (198-94, college: Seton Hill) who had a triple-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-93) chipped in 12 points and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Byron Sanford (183-93, college: Trevecca Naz.) who recorded 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Jordan Burris (201-92, college: CS San Bernar.) added 26 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Dragons Rhoendorf maintains second place in South with 11-4 record having just two points less than leader Elchingen. Newly promoted Coburg keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf are looking forward to face Bayer Giants (#8) in Leverkusen in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Coburg will play at home against SG Schwelmer Baskets and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
