Regular Season Round 15: Rendsburg - Vechta II 78-91

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Vechta-2's (9-4) road victory over 5th ranked Rendsburg (7-6) 91-78 on Saturday. Vechta-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Robert Crawford (201-90, college: Cent.Arkansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Malte Stenzel (182-98) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Vechta-2 players scored in double figures. Vechta-2's coach Hanno Stein allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) with 25 points and 5 rebounds and guard Max Hillner (190-89) scored 21 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Vechta-2. They moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Aschersleben. Loser Rendsburg keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Vechta-2 will face Stade (#6) at home in the next round. Rendsburg will play against Aschersleben and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
