Regular Season Round 16: Suduva - Aistes-LSU 83-52

Leader Suduva delivered the twelfth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Aistes-LSU (5-8) 83-52 in Marijampole. The game was mostly controlled by Suduva. Aistes-LSU managed to win second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Suduva outrebounded Aistes-LSU 45-30 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American guard Stephanie Gardner (170-92, college: ODU) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists and Ukrainian forward Kateryna Dobrikova (184-89) who added 16 points during the contest. At the losing side Monika Petrauskaite (182-92) responded with 8 points and 9 rebounds and Kristina Masionyte (173-0) scored 11 points and 5 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Suduva (12-1) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Loser Aistes-LSU keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Suduva will meet Kibirkstis (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aistes-LSU will play against Siauliai-Univ. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
