Regular Season Round 12: Barreirense - Lusitania 115-113

Barreirense can celebrate finally their first win this season after 12 consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Lusitania (4-8) 115-113 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 assists and swingman Daniel Margarido (191-92) who added 21 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Dominique Coleman (198-88, college: Francis Marion) scored 37 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Five Barreirense and four Lusitania players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Barreirense maintains twelfth position with 1-12 record. It was Lusitania's fourth loss in a row. They dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. Barreirense will meet higher ranked Ovarense (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lusitania will play against Electrico FC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
