Regular Season Round 13: Beroe - Levski Lukoil 74-81

Leader Levski 2014 delivered the eighth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Beroe (5-6) 81-74 in Stara Zagora. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Beroe. Beroe trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 24-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-81 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Beroe 39-28 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina, agency: Two Points) stepped up and scored 15 points for the winners and the former international Hristo Nikolov (200-85, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 14 points. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Levski 2014's coach Konstantin Papazov used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side international forward Aleksandar Yanev-Georgiev (203-90, agency: 011 Sports) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Tihomir Zhelev (193-90) scored 17 points and 5 assists. Levski 2014 (8-4) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Despite that victory Levski 2014 went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Beroe keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Levski 2014 will meet at home Yambol (#8) in the next round. Beroe will play against the league's leader Rilski in Samokov and hope to secure a win.
