There was no surprise when 12th ranked Herzogenaurach (4-10) was edged at home by fourth ranked Gotha II (11-3) 71-68 on Saturday. Gotha II outrebounded Herzogenaurach 48-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Robert Franklin (195-81, college: N.Mexico Highlands) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 24 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Greek center Andreas Kassiumis (210-98) helped adding 10 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Austrian swingman Michael Kaiser (195-82) with 19 points and 4 assists and guard Daniel Krause (194-88) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Herzogenaurach players scored in double figures. Gotha II moved-up to third place in South-East. Loser Herzogenaurach dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
