Regular Season Round 11: Vaerlose - Virum 55-88

The game in Vaerlose supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Virum (8-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Vaerlose (2-9). Virum smashed Vaerlose 88-55. The game without a history. Virum led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Vaerlose's 28. Virum forced 21 Vaerlose turnovers and outrebounded them 50-27 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Caitlin Ingle (172-95, college: Drake, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 19 points, 10 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. Four Virum players scored in double figures. Virum's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Emilie Janner (-99) came up with 10 points and 5 assists and forward Trine Drejer (-98) added 6 points and 4 assists respectively for Vaerlose in the defeat. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-3 record having four points less than leader Horsholm. Vaerlose lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Virum will play against league's leader Horsholm at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vaerlose will play against SISU (#3) in Copenhagen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
