Regular Season Round 13: Benfica - Olivais 67-61

Very expected game in Lisbona where 9th ranked Olivais (4-10) were defeated by fourth ranked Benfica (9-5) 67-61. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Benfica made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Olivais turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward Dejza James (185, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws). International point guard Catarina Neves (173-93) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Christin Mercer (185, college: Jacksonville) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Joana Rochete (183-0) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Olivais. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Benfica. They moved-up to third place. Olivais at the other side keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Benfica's next round opponent will be Boa Viagem (#6) in Angra Heroismo. Olivais will play on the road against Lombos Quinta in Carcavelos and hope to win that game.
