Leader Zalgiris delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Nevezis (4-15) 94-68 in Kaunas. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Zalgiris players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. It was a good game for international power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Slovenian point guard Beno Udrih (190-82) contributed with 18 points and 7 assists for the winners. Five Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Gabas Maldunas (206-93, college: Dartmouth) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Nevezis. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-2 record. Nevezis lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. Zalgiris will play against Juventus (#5) in Utena in the next round. Nevezis will play on the road against Dzukija (#8) in Alytus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
