There was no surprise in Istanbul where 10th ranked Galatasaray (5-9) was crushed by seventh ranked Banvit (8-6) 91-72 on Sunday. Banvit dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Tony Taylor (185-90, college: G.Washington) who scored 25 points and 5 assists. American-Italian Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Banvit's coach Saso Filipovski used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American-Bosnian point guard Alex Renfroe (191-86, college: Belmont, agency: BeoBasket) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Emir Preldzic (206-87, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Banvit have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Darussafaka and Sakarya BSB.
