Another upset was a game between Gladiators (8-9) and OrangeAcademy (5-12), which took place in Ulm. Higher ranked Gladiators lost to fourteenth ranked OrangeAcademy in a road game 85-99. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gladiators. OrangeAcademy shot 64.7 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Gladiators helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Hungarian point guard Marcell Pongo (194-97) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists. Naturalized Austrian point guard David Kramer (191-97) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. Five OrangeAcademy players scored in double figures. Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) produced 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Johannes Joos (206-95) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted OrangeAcademy maintains fourteenth place with 5-12 record. Gladiators at the other side keep the eighth position with nine games lost. OrangeAcademy's next round opponent will be higher ranked Koeln Rh.Stars (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
