Regular Season Round 15: P.Zvaigzdes - Juventus 81-93

The biggest surprise of round 15 in LKL was guest Juventus' (7-11) road victory over 5th ranked P.Zvaigzdes (6-12) 93-81 on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Juventus. P.Zvaigzdes managed to win third quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Juventus looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by P.Zvaigzdes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) chipped in 25 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (203-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin) added 10 points and 10 assists respectively. Four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Rimantas Grigas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Juventus moved-up to fifth place. P.Zvaigzdes lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Siauliai and Dzukija. Juventus are looking forward to face league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. P.Zvaigzdes will play at home against Lietuvos rytas (#3) and is hoping to win this game.
