Regular Season Round 13: Keltern - Marburg 84-72

Rather expected game when 5th ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (7-6) lost on the road to second ranked Gruner Stern Keltern (11-2) 84-72. It looked good early as BC Pharmaserv Marburg took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gruner Stern Keltern had a 22-14 second period charge getting the lead and BC Pharmaserv Marburg was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-84. Gruner Stern Keltern players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by BC Pharmaserv Marburg's players. The former international guard Stina Barnert (173-89) fired 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Estonian forward Mailis Pokk (186-92) chipped in 16 points. International swingman Finja Schaake (179-92) produced 23 points and international forward Marie Bertholdt (183, college: Santa Clara) added 11 points respectively for lost side. BC Pharmaserv Marburg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gruner Stern Keltern keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Wasserburg.
