Regular Season Round 13: Politekhn.Lvov - Hoverla 78-94

Rather predictable result when second ranked Hoverla (10-2) won against 6th ranked Politekhn.Lvov (2-10) in Lviv 94-78 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Hoverla. Politekhn.Lvov was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hoverla looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for center Volodymyr Orlenko (212-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Sergey Startsev (190-97) contributed with 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Hoverla players scored in double figures. Guard Andriy Gutsaliuk (192-96) answered with 29 points and 7 assists and Kyrylo Solodkyy (-99) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for Politekhn.Lvov. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hoverla maintains second place with 10-2 record having just three points less than leader Dinamo. Loser Politekhn.Lvov keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Hoverla will have a break next round. Politekhn.Lvov will play again at home against the league's second-placed Hoverla (#2) and hope to win that game.
