Regular Season Round 14: Olimpia Brasov - Sirius TgM 83-75

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Olimpia Brasov (7-5) beat at home 9th ranked Sirius TgM (2-11) 83-75. It looked good early as Sirius TgM took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Olimpia Brasov had a 28-15 second period charge getting the lead and Sirius TgM was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-83. Strangely Sirius TgM outrebounded Olimpia Brasov 44-0 including a 13- advantage in offensive rebounds. Serbian Biljana Pesovic (180-83) had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Kristina Higgins (196-94, college: Baylor) chipped in 19 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) during the contest. Four Olimpia Brasov players scored in double figures. Olimpia Brasov's coach Daniel Calancea used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Angel Robinson (170-89, college: Marquette, agency: LBM Management) responded with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Kata Meszaros (191-90) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Olimpia Brasov moved-up to third place, which they share with Alexandria. Sirius TgM lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Olimpia Brasov will play against league's second-placed Satu Mare at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sirius TgM will play against the league's leader Sf.Gheorghe (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
