Very expected game when 9th ranked Vytautas (4-15) lost to fourth ranked Lietkabelis (13-6) in Panevezys 86-95. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-19 Vytautas' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 95-86 at the end of the game. Lietkabelis shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 65.4 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian swingman Zanis Peiners (207-90) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 assists and international Adas Juskevicius (194-89) who added 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Tomas Dimsa (198-94) responded with 26 points and power forward Regimantas Miniotas (206-96) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vytautas' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Lietkabelis have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 13-6 record. Vytautas lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 15 games lost. Lietkabelis will play against higher ranked Lietuvos rytas (#3) in Vilnius in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Vytautas will play at home against P.Zvaigzdes (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
