Seventh-ranked SG BBZ Opladen (5-7) gave a tough game to third ranked TG Neuss (9-3). TG Neuss managed to secure only one-point victory 62-61. However their fans expected much easier game. SG BBZ Opladen was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 17-12 charge of TG Neuss, which allowed them to win the game. American center Julia Duggan (185, college: Rider) nailed 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Franziska Worthmann (178-86, college: Robert Morris) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Leonie Schuetter (177-98) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Corinna Flaskamp (184-98) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for SG BBZ Opladen in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TG Neuss moved-up to second place in North. SG BBZ Opladen lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. TG Neuss will play against Baskets Grunberg (#9) in Gruenberg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SG BBZ Opladen will play at home against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel and hopes to get back on the winning track.
