Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Izmit and 8th ranked Urla BLD had identical 10-6 record. This time Izmit used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Izmir 89-82. Izmit players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) nailed 25 points for the winning side and guard Melek Yusufoglu (168-94) accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Izmit players scored in double figures. American center Cierra Robertson-Warren (193-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) came up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and forward Ayse Akinci (175-82, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for Urla BLD in the defeat. Izmit (11-6) moved-up to fifth place. Urla BLD at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Izmit will play against Yalova Vip (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Urla BLD will play against Mersin Gelisim (#17) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
