Regular Season Round 16: Tuebingen II - Mainz 96-87

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Mainz (4-11) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Tuebingen II (9-6) 96-87 on Saturday. Tuebingen II looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Albanian forward Vildan Mitku (200-83) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Jacob Mampuya (200-94) chipped in 23 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) produced 29 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Kewan Beebe (183, college: Geneseo St.) added 18 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Tuebingen II moved-up to fifth place in South-West, which they share with Langen. Mainz lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Tuebingen II will face Limburg (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mainz will play against BG Karlsruhe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
