Regular Season Round 16: Bergedorf - Weser Bsk/BTS 85-61

Very expected game in Hamburg where 12th ranked Weser Bsk/BTS (2-12) was rolled over by eighth ranked Bergedorf (7-7) 85-61 on Saturday. Bergedorf dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Weser Bsk/BTS's 28. They outrebounded Weser Bsk/BTS 46-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Center Markus Timm (204-88) fired 25 points for the winners. Marvin Steinberg (200-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Dion Mohammed Braimoh (192-99) produced 23 points and 4 steals and forward Jonas Liermann (197-87) added 24 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bergedorf moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Goetting.ASC. Weser Bsk/BTS lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Bergedorf will have a break next round. Weser Bsk/BTS will play at home against Ebstorf (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
