Regular Season Round 13: Helios - Krka 104-102

Important game to mention about took place in Domzale. Seventh ranked Helios (7-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th placed Krka (7-6) 104-102 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Krka. It looked good early as Krka took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Helios had a 24-17 second period charge getting the lead and Krka was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 102-104. Helios forced 19 Krka turnovers. Krka was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. International forward Blaz Mahkovic (201-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) nailed 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and guard Jure Pelko (190-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) accounted for 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws). International center Ziga Dimec (210-93) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Croatian guard Maj Kovacevic (190-90) added 22 points and 4 steals respectively for Krka in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Krka's coach Simon Petrov tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Helios moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Krka and Sencur Gor. Helios will play against Hopsi Polzela (#8) on the road in the next round. Krka will play against Ilirija (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
