Regular Season Round 14: Levski Lukoil - Yambol 108-88

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Levski 2014 (9-4) crushed 8th ranked Yambol (3-9) in Sofia 108-88 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Levski 2014. Yambol managed to win third quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Levski 2014 forced 20 Yambol turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 39 assists comparing to just 23 passes made by Yambol's players. American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina, agency: Two Points) notched 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the effort and the former international guard Stanimir Marinov (192-91) supported him with 14 points and 5 assists. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Alan Arnett (196, college: Georgia SW) did not help to save the game for Yambol. Forward Stoyan Petkov (198-85) added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Levski 2014 have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Yambol keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Levski 2014 will meet bottom-ranked Spartak Pleven (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Yambol will play against the league's leader Rilski and hope to secure a win.
