Regular Season Round 14: Timba Timis. - Craiova 74-101

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Craiova (7-6) rolled over 10th ranked Timba Timosoara (2-11) in Timisoara 101-74. The game was mostly controlled by Craiova. Timba Timosoara was better in fourth quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Craiova dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Timba Timosoara's 26. They outrebounded Timba Timosoara 42-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Craiova players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American forward Jamar Samuels (200-89, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian swingman Ivan Siriscevic (198-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Craiova players scored in double figures. Coach Rami Hadar's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian guard Pavle Reljic (194-93) responded with 33 points (!!!) and American forward Cameron Naylor (201-94, college: Texas St.) scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Craiova have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 7-6 record. Timba Timosoara lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Craiova will play against higher ranked Pitesti (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Timba Timosoara will play against Phoenix Galati (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
