No shocking result in a game in Porto where fifth ranked Dragon Force (7-6) defeated 8th ranked Beira Mar (1-12) 87-76 on Sunday. Beira Mar was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Francisco Amarante (192-0) fired 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Agenor Rolo (193-95) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Dragon Force players scored in double figures. American forward Andre Jackson (198, college: Bowie St.) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and Tiago Tavares (185-98) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dragon Force maintains fifth place in North with 7-6 record. Newly promoted Beira Mar keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Dragon Force will face higher ranked Sanjoanense (#4) in Sao Joao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Beira Mar will play at home against the league's second-placed Sampaense (#2) and hope to win that game.
