Regular Season Round 16: Rist Wedel - Cuxhaven 77-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Cuxhaven's (4-12) road loss to tenth ranked SC Rist Wedel (6-10) 70-77 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for Lithuanian center Aurimas Adomaitis (205-87, college: LIU Brooklyn) who helped to win the game recording 20 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Spanish swingman Damian Cortes-Rey (194-96) contributed with 18 points for the winners. SC Rist Wedel's coach Felix Banobre used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Moritz Huebner (200-97) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Florian Wendeler (205-93) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Cuxhaven. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with Oldenburg. Newly promoted Cuxhaven keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. SC Rist Wedel will face league's leader Schalke at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cuxhaven will play against Artland Dragons (#3) and hope to win that game.
