Regular Season Round 16: Art.Dragons - Rostock 105-101

Everything could happen in Quakenbrueck at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Artland Dragons and 5th ranked Rostock had identical 9-6 record. This time Artland Dragons used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Rostock 105-101 on Sunday night. Artland Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Rostock was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated also this game. It was a very good performance for guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. Forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Brandon Lockhart (185-90, college: Drury) replied with 16 points and 8 assists and forward Jordan Talbert (198-91, college: Missouri So.) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Rostock. Four Artland Dragons and five Rostock players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Artland Dragons maintains third position in North with 10-6 record having four points less than leader Elchingen, which they share with Wolfenbuettel and Bochum. Loser Rostock dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. Artland Dragons will face Cuxhaven (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rostock will play against the league's second-placed SSV Lok Bernau (#2) and hope to win that game.
