Regular Season Round 16: Coburg - Schwelm 83-67

There was an upset when higher ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (9-7) lost on the road to tenth ranked Coburg (5-11) 83-67 on Sunday. Coburg dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to SG Schwelmer Baskets' 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for center Max von-der-Wippel (206-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Jordan Burris (201-92, college: CS San Bernar.) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Coburg players scored in double figures. American guard Chris Hortman (190-88, college: Wisc.-Stout) replied with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Lithuanian swingman Andrius Mikutis (194-88, college: John Brown) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for SG Schwelmer Baskets. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Coburg maintains tenth position in South with 5-11 record. SG Schwelmer Baskets at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Coburg will face Wuerzburg (#11) on the road in the next round. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play against FC Bayern II (#9) and hope to win that game.
