Regular Season Round 13: Terceira - Illiabum 71-95

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Terceira (8-8) was smashed by sixth ranked Illiabum (8-7) in Angra Heroismo 95-71 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for American guard Jeff Early (190-88, college: S.Illinois) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Illiabum players scored in double figures. Coach Pedro Nuno Monteiro's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Marcus Van (201-87, college: Cent.Michigan) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Isaiah Johnson (183-93, college: Young Harris) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Terceira. Illiabum moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Terceira dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Illiabum will face Ovarense (#8) at home in the next round. Terceira will play against FC Porto Ferpinta and hope to win that game.
