Regular Season Round 12: Virum - Horsholm 59-66

An exciting game was played in Virum. First ranked Horsholm faced second-best Virum. Guests from Horsholm (12-1) defeated host Virum (8-4) 66-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Virum. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-12. But Virum won second period 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Horsholm won last quarter 16-11. The best player for the winners was American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Emilie Baek (173-99) chipped in 15 points. Horsholm's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ellen Iversen (180-97) added 15 points respectively. Horsholm maintains first position with 12-1 record. Defending champion Virum keeps the second place with four games lost. Horsholm are looking forward to face Vaerlose (#5) at home in the next round. Virum will play against Lemvig and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
