Regular Season Round 11: Tavriyska Zirka - Vinnystkiye M. 53-59

Bottom-ranked Tavriyska Zirka (0-15) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 15th consecutive match to fourth ranked Vinnystkiye M. (7-8) 59-53 on Sunday evening. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 17-8. But Tavriyska Zirka won second period 12-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Vinnystkiye M. won last quarter 16-11. They also forced 20 Tavriyska Zirka turnovers. It was a great evening for Larysa Stadnik (185-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Cynthia Omoboogunje (185-94) helped adding 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Marharyta Hliebova (187-96) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Lolita Sysoyeva (172-95) scored 14 points and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Vinnystkiye M.. They maintain fourth place with 7-8 record. Tavriyska Zirka lost their fifteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 15 games lost. Vinnystkiye M. will face league's leader Kyiv Basket at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tavriyska Zirka will play against Chaika (#7) in Berdiansk and hopes to get finally their first victory.
