Regular Season Round 15: Sirius TgM - Sf.Gheorghe 52-106

Liga Nationala top team - Sf.Gheorghe (14-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Sirius TgM (2-12) in Targu Mures 106-52. The game without a history. Sf.Gheorghe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sirius TgM to just 7 points in third quarter. Sf.Gheorghe dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sirius TgM's 34 and made 22-of-22 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game, while Sirius TgM only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Sirius TgM 37-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Sf.Gheorghe players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Sirius TgM's players. It was a good game for Swedish guard Nathalie Fontaine (188-93, college: Ball St., agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. American swingman Tyaunna Marshall (175-92, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Sf.Gheorghe players scored in double figures. American guard Angel Robinson (170-89, college: Marquette, agency: LBM Management) answered with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Kata Meszaros (191-90) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sirius TgM. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sf.Gheorghe have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-0 record. Sirius TgM lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Sf.Gheorghe's next round opponent will be Olimpia Brasov (#4) at home. Sirius TgM will play against Cluj Napoca (#6) and hope to win that game.
