Very expected game when 11th ranked Mersin Uni (7-10) was defeated at home by second ranked Bursa BSB (13-4) 77-72. Bursa BSB players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American center Monique Oliver (188-91, college: Rutgers) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Candide Ozturk (188-89) supported her with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Five Bursa BSB players scored in double figures. Even 18 points by Manolya Kurtulmus (187-98, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Mersin Uni. American-Polish forward Julia Demirer (187-81, college: Emmanuel, MA) added 12 points and 8 rebounds. Bursa BSB have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Bursa BSB maintains second position with 13-4 record having just three points less than leader Bodrum, which they share with Mersin MBK. Mersin Uni at the other side keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost. Bursa BSB's next round opponent will be league's leader Bodrum at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mersin Uni will play against Cankaya (#5) in Ankara and hope to win that game.
