Seventh-ranked Boa Viagem (8-9) used its home court advantage to challenge top-ranked Uniao Sportiva (17-0) in Angra Heroismo. The visitors from Ponta Delgada managed to secure only two-point victory 63-61. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Brazilian power forward Leticia Rodrigues (190-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Brazilian forward Raphaella Monteiro (181-95) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Sara Dickey (180-95, college: Evansville) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Ugandan forward Claire Lamunu (185-93, college: Vanguard) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Uniao Sportiva have an impressive 17-game winning streak. Despite that victory Uniao Sportiva went down to second position due to points difference. Boa Viagem at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Benfica. Uniao Sportiva will play against CAB Madeira (#5) in Funchal in the next round. Boa Viagem will play on the road against Olivais in Coimbra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
