There was no surprise in Kaunas where 14th ranked KTU (5-23) was defeated by seventh ranked Jonava (15-13) 85-78 on Saturday. Jonava outrebounded KTU 49-26 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Dovydas Redikas (192-92) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Nigerian-American guard Ebuka Anyaorah (193-90, college: N.C.Central) who added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Anyaorah is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Matas Ragauskas (192-96) responded with 20 points and 4 steals and Deividas Rinkunas (186-95) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four KTU players scored in double figures. Jonava have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. KTU lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Jonava will meet at home Perlas (#10) in the next round. KTU will play against the league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga (#2) in Marijampole and hope to secure a win.
