Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Titans (8-9) were defeated on the road by second ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (12-5) 91-74 on Saturday. Dragons Rhoendorf made 29-of-38 free shots (76.3 percent) during the game. Dragons Rhoendorf outrebounded Titans 44-24 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Titans' players. American guard Kameron Taylor (198-94, college: Seton Hill) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners and Thomas Michel (200-95) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Four Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. American guard Willie Mangum IV (185-93, college: E.Michigan) responded with 28 points and point guard Janek Schmidkunz (183-90, college: Amer.Internat.) scored 17 points and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dragons Rhoendorf maintains second place in South with 12-5 record having just two points less than leader Elchingen, which they share with Iserlohn. Loser Titans keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf will face FC Bayern II (#9) in Muenchen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Titans will play at home against Coburg and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
