The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Suduva as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Suduva smashed bottom-ranked Siauliai-Univ. in Marijampole 95-48. The game without a history. Suduva led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Siauliai-Univ.'s 26. They outrebounded Siauliai-Univ. 45-28 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Suduva looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Siauliai-Univ.'s players. The former international center Justina Matuzonyte (195-94) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American guard Stephanie Gardner (170-92, college: ODU) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists. Five Suduva players scored in double figures. Suduva's coach Tadas Stankevicius felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brigita Sinickaite (175-1) produced 17 points and 4 assists and forward Urte Bukauskaite (178-94) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Sirenos. Siauliai-Univ. at the other side still closes the standings. Siauliai-Univ. will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Suduva will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Vilkmerge in Ukmerge.
