Regular Season Round 15: KPZO DYUSH - Rivne 58-114

Bottom-ranked KPZO DYUSH (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 114-58 loss to third ranked Rivne-OSHVSM (10-3) in Dnepropetrovsk on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Rivne-OSHVSM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held KPZO DYUSH to an opponent 21.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 54.2 percent accuracy of the winners and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Rivne-OSHVSM outrebounded KPZO DYUSH 52-30 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Rivne-OSHVSM looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by KPZO DYUSH's players. The best player for the winners was forward Vasil Fedorchuk (200-96) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Point guard Mikhailo Stonozhenko (186-96) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Rivne-OSHVSM players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Oleksandr Fomenko (180-86) who recorded 23 points and point guard Andriy Raus (175-91) added 14 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Rivne-OSHVSM. They maintain third place with 10-3 record having just three points less than leader Niko-Basket. KPZO DYUSH lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Rivne-OSHVSM will have a break next round. KPZO DYUSH will play again at home against Rivne-OSHVSM (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
