Regular Season Round 17: Cuxhaven - Art.Dragons 69-72

Very expected game when 11th ranked Cuxhaven (4-13) was edged at home by third ranked Artland Dragons (11-6) 72-69 on Saturday. Artland Dragons made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Max Rockmann (198-88, college: UMKC) stepped up and scored 29 points for the winners and American forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Point guard Jannes Hundt (184-96) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and American guard Terence Smith (193-91, college: Mississippi) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Artland Dragons moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Bochum and Bernau. Newly promoted Cuxhaven keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Artland Dragons will face ETB Wohnbau (#10) in Essen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cuxhaven will play on the road against SSV Lok Bernau and hope to win that game.
